What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist to serve as the primary point of contact for our growing team in Israel. The HR Generalist will support employees of a new Israeli subsidiary across the full employee lifecycle while helping establish and scale the local workplace experience.
Reporting to the Director of HR in the U.S. with a dotted-line relationship to the COO in Israel, this role will support with local site operations, employee experience, and Israel-specific needs. The position requires strong knowledge of Israeli labor law and HR operations, close collaboration with the U.S. HR team and a hands-on partnership with local leadership to support office operations, employee experience, and site needs as the Israeli presence grows.
What You’ll Do:
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes for Israel-based employees, ensuring a smooth and compliant employee experience
- Coordinate employment documentation, contracts, system access, and exit procedures
- Partner with managers and internal/external stakeholders to support employee transitions, role changes, and exits
Benefits & Payroll Coordination
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, including health insurance, pension, severance, and statutory benefits
- Coordinate with payroll vendors, finance teams, and external providers to support accurate payroll processing
- Review payroll inputs, employee changes, and time-off data for accuracy
- Assist with payroll-related employee questions and issue resolution
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors on statutory and pension related matters, without owning policy design.
Compliance & Labor Law
- Ensure compliance with Israeli labor laws, regulations, and employment standards as they relate to day-to-day HR operations
- Maintain accurate employee records and required documentation
- Support audits, government reporting, and policy updates as needed
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, practices, and local legal requirements, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate party
Office, Workplace & Local Site Management
- Serve as the primary owner of local office operations in Israel, including coordination with co-working providers (e.g. WeWork style environments)
- Oversee day to day workplace needs, ensuring an organized and welcoming office environment
- Work closely and hand in hand with local leadership on office planning, site needs, and potentially transition to a permanent office location as the site scales.
- Manage relationships with local vendors and facilities providers.
Employee Experience, Engagement, & Wellbeing
- Support with local employee experience initiatives for the Israel team, including employee events, and team gatherings
- Serve as a cultural ambassador to reinforce company values, and foster connection between the Israel team and the broader global organization
Global HR Collaboration
- Work closely with the U.S. HR team to align local practices with global policies
- Support cross-border HR initiatives, reporting, and employee communications
- Support local talent acquisition efforts when needed
- Participate in global HR projects such as policy rollouts, system implementations, and process improvements
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a global or multinational organization
- Strong working knowledge of Israeli employment law, benefits, and HR practices
- Experience supporting payroll processes and working with external vendors
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote, U.S.-based teams
- Ability to work with US west coast hours as needed
- Fluency in Hebrew and English (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Working Conditions:
- Continuous work on a personal computer.
- Ability to work from home including a stable internet connection
- Ability to work from an office in Petach Tikva
- Ability to work with both local teams and US teams (west coast hours) when needed
