Edelman has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our U.S. Brand team! For this role, you will work on a large restaurant chain account, supporting its Corporate Reputation, Purpose, and Brand initiatives. Previous agency experience and experience supporting the development of communications strategies is highly preferred. This is a great opportunity to bring your public relations, writing, content development, and media relations skills to Edelman.
The SAE will be part of a strong multi-disciplinary account team that spans multiple offices. This position is ideal for an individual looking for a fast-paced, intellectually challenging, and creative environment. There is also room for growth opportunities in this role.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Serve as day-to-day support on various workstreams, including executing general account management tactics and collaborating with team members.
- Day-to-day client relationship management; coordinating agendas and notes as well as leading portions of internal and client calls.
- Involvement in all components of media relations, from compiling media materials and writing press releases to tracking and reporting coverage.
- Coordinating and staffing media events.
- Monitoring for, vetting, and coordinating various proactive and reactive strategic storytelling opportunities, from idea to publication.
- Executing thought leadership and executive positioning tactics, and amplifying client leadership voices via various communications channels.
- Researching, monitoring trends, and supporting programming around clients’ corporate social responsibility, sustainability, food quality, and nutrition initiatives.
- Supporting crisis and risk management counsel.
- Monitoring for, vetting, and coordinating various awards and conferences.
- At least 2-3 years minimum of full-time relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (PR, English, Communications, Journalism, Advertising) from an accredited college or university
- A solid understanding of the public relations industry and its basic principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
- Experience using monitoring and media tools like Cision, TrendKite, and MuckRack
- Basic research and project management skills
- Superior verbal communication skills
- Strong writing abilities
- Positive, collaborative attitude
- Ideally has prior food industry experience; able to understand latest trends and apply to client situations
- Ideally has prior experience with sustainability/CSR/Social Purpose work on behalf of brands
- Strong writing abilities, including drafting messaging, pitches, and press releases, as well as adapting tone for different voices and audiences
- Proven track record of strong organization and time management skills
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
