Job Description

As a Researcher, you will conduct innovative research projects focused on various aspects of the biology of aging and extending healthspan, including but not limited to cellular metabolic pathways that confer resilience to aging. We are prepared to commence several projects without delay.

You will join the Johannes Kepler University Graduate program and earn a PhD degree upon successful completion of the training. You will receive a high level training and mentoring in scientific methods, project design and presentation, and opportunity to present your findings on international events.

Model systems used include cells/stem cells and in vivo mouse models.

This position will consist of use of techniques such as imaging and indirect immunofluorescence via confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, plasmid design/cloning, CRISPR/Cas9 genetic editing, and biochemistry including western blots, subcellular fractionations, immunoprecipitations, RNA isolation coupled with RNAseq analysis and animal experimentation.

Position is funded for 4 years.

Required Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Biology or related field
• Strong research skills, including experience with quantitative and/or qualitative methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English is essential. English serves as the primary language for daily operations within the laboratory.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
