AI Engineering Team Leader

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to drive Elementor's AI innovation initiatives and lead a talented team of engineers. As we pioneer the next generation of web creation tools, you'll guide the technical direction and development of AI solutions that empower millions of creators worldwide.

In this role, you'll combine technical leadership with strategic vision to build and mentor a high-performing AI engineering team. You'll oversee the exploration and integration of cutting-edge AI technologies while ensuring engineering excellence and product impact. Your leadership will shape not only the technical architecture but also the team culture and development practices that drive our AI innovation forward.

Requirements:

Leadership & Management:

3+ years of engineering team leadership experience
Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
Experience managing technical projects from conception to production
Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business stakeholders
Managing stakeholder expectations and technical trade-offs
Making strategic technical decisions that align with product goals
Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration

Technical Expertise:

7+ years of software engineering experience, with a significant focus on:
Building and deploying production AI systems
Building scalable web applications using modern Node.js and React ecosystems
Cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture
Code quality and engineering best practices
Production monitoring and incident management

Deep understanding of:

LLM platforms and AI service integration
Advanced prompt engineering and LLM optimization
RAG systems and vector databases
AI development and best practices with leading LLM platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
System design and technical architecture
Performance optimization and cost management

Responsibilities:

Build, lead, and mentor a team of AI and full-stack engineers
Shape and execute our AI product strategy and technical roadmap
Drive engineering excellence through best practices, code reviews, and architectural decisions
Work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive AI solutions
Establish technical standards and development processes for AI features
Manage project planning, sprint execution, and technical debt
Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic technical decisions
Ensure operational excellence of AI systems in production
