The Virtualization and Management of Storage ( VaMoS ) team in Core OS is looking for an extraordinarily dedicated and hands-on software engineering manager to lead a team of engineers developing software used across Apple’s platforms. The team designs and develops the storage technologies for virtualization at Apple. In addition the team develops a diverse set of storage frameworks for all Apple device OS platforms. These are key components inside our storage stack, and are important for performance, stability and usability of our products. You will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the design and implementation of Apple's consumer products and services, as well as encounter technological depth. Key Qualifications

Key Qualifications

2 years+ experience in leading a software development team
Strong software generalist with experience in several software environments with affinity for tackling challenges on multiple layers in the system.
Excellent programming skills in at least one of C/C++/Objective C.
Solid understanding of operating systems fundamentals.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash.
Familiarity with build systems and source control systems such as git.
History of setting high-reaching yet attainable goals, and motivating teams to achieve them
Evidence of driving technical innovation
Passion to dig in and lead the development of ground-breaking products
Strong communication skills, both inward and outward
Ability to drive collaboration with cross-functional teams

Lead a team of highly skilled engineers in the design and implementation of several core components in the storage stack, located on multiple layers in the system. Imagine and push the feature roadmap for the team. Lead and execute the team’s development cycle from feature planning, execution and testing. Lead xFunc features that require collaboration with multi-functional teams to supported deeply integrated features , teams may be located in the US. You should have excellent analytical skills and debugging experience. In addition to developing and maintaining individual projects, you will also be expected to provide design guidance and technical support and expertise to teams across the company.
