Head of Development

We are now scaling our technology and operations and are looking for an exceptional Head of Development to lead our engineering organization through its next phase of growth, complexity, and maturity.

About the Role

As Head of Development, you will own and lead our multi-disciplinary engineering group- backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, QA, and automation.

You will shape engineering strategy and processes, strengthen execution and delivery, and build the operational and technological foundations required for a regulated, mission-critical domain.

This is a senior, high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in scale-up environments, can design and enforce structure, and can guide multiple teams delivering complex, distributed systems.

What You’ll Lead

· End-to-end engineering execution: planning, delivery, quality, releases, and deployment.

· Building and maturing development processes that support regulatory, certification, and security requirements.

· Engineering standards: coding practices, design reviews, documentation, testing, and release discipline.

· Cross-functional alignment with Product and Projects, including PRDs, effort estimations, technical scoping, and design documentation.

· Architectural evolution, system scalability, and modernization initiatives.

· Security oversight and secure development practices.

· Collaboration on AI/agents integration (led by our AI group), ensuring smooth technical implementation interfaces.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles (team lead and above), managing development teams working on complex, cloud-based, distributed systems.
At least 3 years as a Head of Development / Engineering Manager overseeing teams of 10 or more developers (multiple teams or a group).
Proven experience scaling engineering organizations and systems in dynamic, fast-growing environments.
Strong technical background in cloud-native technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, TypeScript/Node.js, React, PostgreSQL/Redis/MongoDB or similar).
Track record of owning delivery processes, strengthening engineering quality, and building structure and discipline.
Deep experience collaborating with Product and cross-functional stakeholders.
Excellent leadership, communication, and people-management skills.
Fluent English.

Nice to Have

Experience in aviation, drones, defense, or other safety-critical domains.
Security clearance.
Familiarity with integrating AI/agent-based systems
