Software Engineer II – Geo Intelligence (Marketplace)

Join our clients' Geo Intelligence team and help power trusted geographic data, routing, and spatial models that underpin search, relevance, maps, partner onboarding, and compliance across our products. In this role, you’ll build and operate backend geo services and data pipelines, improve reliability and data quality, and collaborate closely with product, ML, analytics, and engineering partners to deliver scalable, well-governed geo capabilities through APIs.

Required Skills

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java (or another JVM language) in production environments
• Hands-on experience building and operating REST APIs
• Solid experience with relational databases and data modeling
• Experience working with distributed systems and data flows (e.g., event streaming, search engines, cloud data platforms)
• Strong engineering craft: readable, maintainable code; refactoring; appropriate use of patterns and libraries
• Demonstrated focus on testing (automation, contract tests, data validation) and observability (monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting)
• Comfort working with data quality: validating, reconciling, and reasoning about large datasets
• Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills

• Spring Boot
• Python
• Experience with spatial databases and geospatial querying concepts
• Familiarity with spatial indexing systems such as H3 or S2
• Experience building platform or API products used by multiple internal teams

Preferred Education and Experience

• Professional experience designing, building, and running backend services in production
• Experience owning services end-to-end (availability, latency, data freshness, incident response, and continuous improvement)
• Relevant degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Location: Candidates must be based in Tel Aviv
• Working model: hybrid
• Availability: Participation in an on-call rotation may be required
• Contract details: Contract engagement; 40 hours/week; ~ 6 month duration
