About the Job

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Operations Specialist – Image Acquisition to join our Operations team for a temporary, part-time position (Maternity Leave Replacement). In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of our satellite image acquisition process, ensuring that imagery required for customer projects is accurately selected, ordered, tracked, validated, and delivered to our Production team on time.

The position combines operational coordination, supplier management, technical accuracy, and financial oversight, working closely with international suppliers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Satellite Image Acquisition & Order Management

• Review image acquisition requests and coordinate technical and operational requirements.
• Evaluate imagery options and suppliers based on coverage, specifications, cost, availability, and delivery timelines.
• Place and manage orders, ensuring accuracy, documentation, and traceability throughout the process.

Supplier Coordination & Quality Assurance

• Monitor ongoing orders, follow up with suppliers, and proactively address delays or issues.
• Validate delivered imagery against technical requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate the timely handover of approved imagery to Production.

Financial & Operational Control

• Review and validate supplier invoices, costs, and order details.
• Track image acquisition expenses and support budget planning and forecasting.
• Maintain accurate operational records and ensure alignment with supplier agreements.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Product, and Operations to ensure smooth execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, tracking, and operational efficiency.
• Support operational improvement and automation initiatives as needed.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree or final-year student in Geography, Geology, Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or a related field.
• Familiarity with GIS, remote sensing, or satellite imagery technologies.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and processes simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and methodical approach.
• High level of independence, accountability, and end-to-end process ownership.
• A proactive, hands-on attitude and strong motivation to learn and contribute.
