We're building MS0 Reverse - an AI-powered Software Intelligence platform that transforms legacy systems from business liabilities into strategic assets. We help banks, enterprises, and government organizations understand, maintain and modernize their most critical yet least understood systems.

About the Role

As VP R&D, you'll lead a team tackling one of software's hardest problems: extracting meaning, logic, and business rules from millions of lines of undocumented legacy code—then making that intelligence actionable.

You'll work at the intersection of ancient systems (COBOL, PL/I, JCL), Web applications, complex algorithms and cutting-edge AI (LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows). This role is for someone who wants to create solutions that don't exist yet.

What You'll Do

Lead and Scale the R&D Team

• Build and mentor a world-class engineering team through our next growth phase

• Define technical vision alongside the CTO, translating architecture into executable roadmaps

• Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and rapid execution

• Hire exceptional engineers and develop future technical leaders

Drive Technical Innovation

• Design our core intelligence platform—from static analysis to AI-driven insights extraction

• Pioneer LLM integration approaches for legacy code (a domain with almost no prior art)

• Build our knowledge architecture and analysis framework

• Own technical strategy for multi-cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployments

Partner Cross-Functionally

• Collaborate with Product to convert market insights into innovative solutions

• Work with customers to understand technical requirements and deployment needs

• Balance engineering excellence with business priorities and time-to-market

Shape the Future

• Define our long-term technical roadmap and platform evolution

• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and methodologies

• Establish engineering best practices, architecture standards, and quality frameworks

Requirements

Technical Expertise

• 7+ years hands-on full-stack development experience

• 5+ years cloud infrastructure experience (multi-cloud environments preferred)

• 3+ years working with complex algorithms, graphs, and data structures

• 2+ years hands-on AI/LLM experience in production systems with deep knowledge in RAG techniques and strong prompt engineering skills.

• Experience designing architectures, services, APIs, and algorithms from scratch

Leadership Experience

• Track record building and scaling engineering teams (5+ engineers), at least 2 years

• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities

• Ability to work independently and drive innovation

• Experience balancing technical excellence with business objectives
