Job Description
At the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, a PhD position in Geophysics is available under the supervision of Prof. Roi Granot.
The project focuses on the collection, processing, and analysis of vector aeromagnetic data for regional and crustal-scale geophysical interpretation. The research aims to improve methodologies for acquiring, correcting, and modeling modern vector aeromagnetic datasets, and to integrate them with other geophysical and geological data.
This position is part of a collaborative research project between Ben-Gurion University and the Institute of Geosciences at Kiel University (Germany), led jointly by Prof. Roi Granot and Prof. Jörg Ebbing. The collaboration combines expertise in geophysical modeling, inversion techniques, and tectonic interpretation, with the goal of enhancing our understanding of crustal and lithospheric structure in the eastern Mediterranean region.
The successful candidate will develop and apply data-processing algorithms, perform magnetic inversion and interpretation, and participate in international scientific collaboration and data exchange.
The position is funded according to BGU doctoral fellowship standards, including a competitive stipend and coverage of tuition fees. Additional support for travel and research visits to Kiel University will be available through project funding.
How to apply
