Data Analyst

A startup company is developing an innovative Data infrastructure for the online social gaming industry. The platform integrates with game APIs (not related to gambling) to create a unique and engaging gaming experience.

Located in Tel Aviv near a train station. The company employs around 80 people, most of them in R&D.

Founded three years ago, the company has raised significant funding from leading investors and VCs. In 2023, it launched its first product in the U.S., achieving profitability and strong industry recognition. A second product was recently released, and the company continues to grow and establish itself as a leader in the gaming industry.

The founders are experienced technologists who previously built and sold companies, with deep expertise in the global gaming sector. Many employees are alumni of elite technology units.

The role involves analysis of financial data, including payments, fraud, transactions, and chargebacks. The work includes using SQL in a GCP environment with BigQuery, as well as Python for data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct ongoing analysis of payment transaction behaviors, monitoring approval rates, chargeback patterns, and fraud indicators to establish performance baselines and detect anomalies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance,Product, BI) to develop comprehensive payment analytics and fraud prevention strategies and to define requirements and specifications for payment analytics dashboards that track approval ratios, chargeback rates, fraud losses, and provider performance
• Establish payment analytics goals and monitoring policies, define fraud detection frameworks, and create internal guidelines for payment optimization
• Recommend data-driven payment solutions that improve approval rates and payment routing, reduce fraud losses, and enhance overall payment performance based on analytical insights

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in a data-focused role (Data Analysis, BI, or similar). Strong SQL skills—you should be comfortable writing complex queries and debugging data issues.
• Experience with cloud-based BI tools (GCP/AWS) Advantage for BigQuery
• A detail-oriented mindset—you spot inconsistencies before anyone else.
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking and a detective-like approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with B2C environments and user behavior trends, bonus for gaming Advantages:
• Experience with Python (Pandas, SciPy, NumPy)
• Knowledge of A/B testing including statistical methods
