Software Engineering Team Lead

An Israeli Fintech startup developing an advanced, AI-driven SaaS platform that alerts businesses (B2B) to potential fraud in payment transfers and identifies process flaws caused by human error. The platform streamlines existing payment workflows, prevents fraud, and ensures payments are routed correctly, even under heavy workloads.

The company is stable and profitable, with $17M raised and a growing customer base that includes Fortune 500 companies. They offer equity and excellent conditions—an exciting opportunity to join during a growth stage and make an impact.

Based in Tel Aviv near a train line, the team operates in a hybrid model (two days from home) and includes around 45 employees globally, 25 of them in R&D.

The role:

Leading a team of 5 developers (with plans to grow), reporting to the VP of Engineering. This is a leadership-focused role with minimal hands-on coding, involving both technical and people management.

Tech stack: Python, AWS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices.

Requirements-

• 2+ years of Experience as a Team Leader
• 6+ years of Experience in Backend development
• 4+ years of Experience in Python development
• Experience working in an agile R&D team
• Proven experience building scalable, performance optimal microservices using Python
• Experience with at least one Python web framework (such as FastAPI, Flask, Django etc.)
• Proficient working with MongoDB, Postgres/MariaDB
• Proficient in working with Containers, Kubernetes infrastructure, CI/CD tools
• High architecture-level design and understanding of large-scale systems
• Able to work independently or as an integral part of a collaborative team
• An expert in balancing the trade-offs between technical and product priorities
• Experience with Cloud - must, AWS - advantage
• Experience working with Elastic Stack – advantage
