We are seeking a motivated Junior Help Desk to join our team and provide technical support for a small-to-midsize office environment. You will be the main point of contact for all IT-related issues, working on tickets, managing system updates, and maintaining hardware. Our client’s environment is built on Microsoft products, uses Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for identity management, and includes on-premises network infrastructure that requires basic switch management. This is a hands-on role that offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow across multiple areas of IT.

Responsibilities
1. Help Desk Support
Receive and log incoming help desk requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
Troubleshoot and resolve first-level technical issues (software, hardware, network).
Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or external vendors when necessary.
2. System Administration (Microsoft / Azure AD)
Manage user accounts and access rights in Azure Active Directory.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and basic maintenance tasks for Microsoft-based environments (Windows client and server operating systems, Office 365, etc.).
Monitor system performance and security alerts, taking corrective action where needed.
3. Network & Hardware Maintenance
Manage and troubleshoot a basic office network, including hardware switches and Wi-Fi access points.
Assist with the configuration and deployment of new hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, etc.).
Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of all hardware and software assets.
4. Ticket & Documentation Management
Prioritize, track, and resolve IT tickets promptly.
Document solutions and maintain a knowledge base to streamline future support.
Communicate updates and resolutions to end users effectively.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with senior IT staff and third-party vendors on project-related tasks.
Contribute ideas to improve help desk processes and overall system performance.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices relevant to the client’s environment.

Requirements
1. Education & Experience
Some prior experience in an IT support or help desk role (internships, part-time, or full-time) is beneficial, but not strictly required if you have strong foundational knowledge.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT or related field is a plus.
2. Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office 365 suite.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments and Azure Active Directory (account creation, password resets, group memberships).
Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and hands-on experience with network hardware (switches, routers) is a plus.
3. Soft Skills
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
4. Additional Requirements
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Ability to lift and move equipment (computers, monitors, and other hardware) as required.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Occasional on-call or after-hours support may be required.
