Software Engineering Team Lead

A global American high-tech company developing an innovative, first-of-its-kind satellite communication solution that can replace terrestrial antenna masts and provide cellular access and coverage anywhere in the world.

The company employs 500 people globally, with its primary R&D center located in Israel, where 100 employees work, with significant growth expected. The company is located in central Israel, near a train station and light rail, and offers work-from-home flexibility.

Responsibilities:

• Lead an application software team, comprising AST's in-house resources and subcontractors, to develop, integrate, and support the Payload Ground Management system. This includes the creation of web-based GUIs and server-side logic.
• Translate project requirements into well-architected solutions that effectively leverage the platform's capabilities.
• Conduct thorough design and code reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in full-stack technologies and implement them appropriately in projects.
• Integrate with the ground and satellite infrastructure and applications, enhancing capabilities through the development of new applications and scripts.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure the necessary functionality of payload systems, both on the ground and within the satellites.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Have a track record of at least 5 years of hands-on experience in both software development and team leadership.
• Demonstrate expertise in full-stack development, encompassing web-based GUIs, data visualization, back-end logic, inter process communication, and database management, with 5 years of practical experience in each.
• Confirmed experience in managing high-scale, complex, and system-wide applications is a strong plus.
• Confirmed experience in command-and-control systems or other technology-driven operation centers is a plus.
• Have proven experience with programming languages: JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Python.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with key stakeholders.
• Adaptability and readiness to work in a demanding and flexible environment.
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
• Proficiency in English
