Software Engineering Team Lead

An Israeli-American Data startup pioneering in the Construction Tech field. The company develops a product installed on cranes at construction sites that uses AI and IoT technology to capture and analyze data, providing real-time insights to optimize decision-making and performance analysis.

The goal is to unify fragmented aspects of the construction process into a single source of productivity and accuracy.

The company has raised over $100M in two funding rounds, with its product already in production and deployed with clients in the U.S. and France. They have 60 employees, half of whom are in R&D.

Based in Tel Aviv, within walking distance of a train station. They operate in a hybrid model with two work-from-home days and are on a strong growth trajectory.

The role involves managing a new Full-Stack team of 4–6 developers, reporting to the VP of R&D, with 30% hands-on work. Responsibilities include feature development, architecture, design, and coding, with a focus on the Backend using NodeJS and TypeScript in an AWS environment, working with Kafka.

Requirements:

• 6 years experience as a full-stack developer, writing code across the stack.
• 2 years proven experience in leading and mentoring developers and engineers as a Tech-Lead, Architect, or, preferably, a Team-Lead. The ideal candidate will have already led a team of 3 people or more.
• 2 years experience with building Node.js applications in TypeScript.
• Previous experience with React is a plus.
• Experience in planning and implementing scalable microservices architectures over cloud platforms, AWS is preferred.
• Experience in crafting, creating, and utilizing RESTful API’s.
• Experienced with planning and maintaining features with complex data persistence needs using relational DBs.
• Experienced with highly evented architectures, previous experience with Kafka is a plus.
• A strong product mindset and substantial experience in acting as the technical counterpart in an empowered team.
