Security Researcher

Role Description:  

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Security Researcher to join the Jed Security team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in penetration testing, deep expertise in Linux environments, and a comprehensive understanding of networking protocols. This role involves performing security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and contributing to the development of advanced security solutions. 

Responsibilities: 

• Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments across a range of systems and applications. 
• Analyze and identify security weaknesses in networks, applications, and systems. 
• Develop and implement sophisticated techniques for threat detection and mitigation. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into development processes. 
• Stay updated with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to provide expert advice and recommendations. 
• Document findings and prepare detailed reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Assist in the creation and delivery of security awareness training for staff. 

Qualifications: 

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on penetration testing and vulnerability assessment. 
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems and command-line tools. 
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, architectures, and security practices. 
• Experience with various penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap). 
• Strong understanding of web application security, network security, and exploit development. 
• Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Relevant certifications such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar are a plus.
