The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) at the Technion, founded in 1952, is a research framework within the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. NBRI is dedicated to conducting state-of-the-art research in various areas of building research to advance knowledge and tools in the construction sector. The research activities cover Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Building Materials, Performance and Technology, and Construction Management.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a PhD researcher at the Seskin Virtual Construction Lab with a fully-funded scholarship. The role involves conducting innovative theoretical and experimental research in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twin Construction (DTC), robotics and computing, and possibly teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in their field of expertise, collaborating with faculty and other researchers, publishing research findings, and contributing to the academic community through seminars and conferences.
Qualifications
- An MSc degree with thesis in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or in Computer Science
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Research and Data Analysis
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of relevant research methodologies and tools
This position is part of the EIC Pathfinder Project AM2PM: ADDITIVE TO PREDICTIVE MANUFACTURING FOR MULTISTOREY CONSTRUCTION USING LEARNING BY PRINTING AND NETWORKED ROBOTICS Additional post-doc and PhD positions are also available at the Technion in this project, in the areas of Structural Optimization, Construction materials for 3D printing, and Architectural aspects of additive manufacturing.
The position will commence on or after October 1st 2024. The position will remain open until filled.
