Development Team Lead

Webz.io is looking for an R&D Team Lead to join our Development team.

Webz.io’s mission is to provide easy access to high-quality web content to companies that wish to focus on data analysis and not data collection.

We work to provide access to the biggest data repositories in each vertical we serve, and we take pride in our ability to quickly take care of our clients, and fulfill their data requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Ownership of our collection system’s technology & architecture. Designing and developing technical projects, and leading the team’s technical strategy for our collection tech stack.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure healthy optimization and functionality
• Oversee and own the professional and personal development of the team and drive them to greater accountability and excellence
• Run bi-weekly sprints and manage quarterly planning
• Collaborate closely with the product team
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of software development/engineering experience
• At least 2 years of experience in Python development
• At least 2 years experience leading a development team
• Experience working on high-scale, production-grade projects
• A people-oriented with strong soft skills who is capable of managing complex projects, think creatively, and is great at execution
• Demonstrable knowledge of technologies including: Linux, big data systems, distributed applications, REST architecture, and common developer tools (code repositories, building tools, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of the web, internet structure, and understanding of data pipelines
• Experience with crawling technologies - A big advantage
