Role Description

Our lab is looking for a PhD student for research in the area of solution-state biomolecular hyperpolarized NMR. The research, to be carried out in collaboration with the labs of Profs. R. Rosenzweig (Weizmann), C. Hilty (Texas A&M) and H. Schwalbe (Frankfurt Univ), will develop new multidimensional NMR experiments targeting sidechain and backbone sites in proteins as well as imino and amino sites in nucleic acids, while exploiting the transfer of magnetization from hyperpolarized water. The aim of this research is to establish hyperpolarized solution-state NMR as a tool to evaluate dynamic binding and folding processes of biomolecules under physiological conditions.

Qualifications

• A strong academic background, with grade averages ≥ 85/100 (or equivalent)
• A Master (or equivalent) degree with proven experience in research
• Previous exposure to magnetic resonance (NMR, MRI, EPR) desirable
• Interest in multidisciplinary research linking spectroscopy with biophysics
