Backend Team Lead

Overview:

Sweetch, a leading entity in the Digital Health domain, is on the lookout for a Backend Team Lead. This pivotal role entails guiding the infrastructure team towards a sophisticated serverless framework, with a focus on a microservices architecture within the AWS cloud environment. The position requires an individual with profound expertise in the creation and implementation of serverless software systems, specifically within a microservices structure on AWS, signifying a crucial juncture in the technological advancement of the company.

• Lead and manage a team of three senior backend developers in Poland and Israel, ensuring the successful achievement of project milestones and objectives.
• Spearhead the design and architecture of new features and systems, converting complex requirements into scalable and robust solutions.
• Remain hands-on with coding duties, dedicating about 30% of your time to developing code for proofs of concept (POCs), addressing complex problems, and other tasks not directly related to production.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align with the company's strategic direction and promote the ongoing improvement of development practices.
• Guide a professional guild of backend developers, serving as the technical mentor for all backend development aspects related to serverless architecture within the company. Provide guidance and mentorship to backend developers from other teams, and implement development methodologies and best practices to enhance the team's efficiency and the quality of serverless applications.
  

• 4+years of backend software development experience, with a solid grounding in server-side technologies.
• Proficiency in Python / Typescript 
•  2 +years in a leadership role such as Tech Lead or Team Leader.
• Experience managing remote teams, particularly in an international context, is highly regarded.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
• Proven skills in system design and architecture, with the ability to oversee the creation of high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Strong Understanding of AWS Services: Proficiency in using AWS services relevant to serverless architectures, such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and more. The candidate should be able to design, deploy, and manage applications using these services.
• Experience with Serverless  AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) to define, deploy, and manage serverless applications.
• Understanding of microservices architecture principles and patterns, and experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based applications, especially in a serverless context.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) of serverless applications. 
• Experience with database design and management, particularly with serverless options on AWS like DynamoDB for NoSQL storage, RDS for relational databases in serverless configurations, and S3 for object storage.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize serverless applications for performance, cost, and scalability.
