A well-established defense company in the aerospace domain is seeking a seasoned and hands-on Director of HR to lead the full HR function end-to-end. This is a unique opportunity to serve as a sole HR leader in a mission-driven, engineering-focused environment, directly influencing organizational strategy and culture.

About the Role

This is a 360° HR leadership position with full ownership of the people agenda. You will operate as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day HR execution including hands-on recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the entire HR function as a standalone role

Design, implement, and own HR strategy, policies, and processes

Hands-on recruitment across engineering and operational roles

Manage and lead the administrative team

Serve as a member of the executive management team

Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to VPs and mid-level managers

Oversee performance management, employee development, retention, and succession planning

Drive organizational development initiatives and employee engagement

Act as the primary point of contact for all employee-related matters

Ensure compliance with labor laws and defense-sector regulations

Requirements

15+ years of HR experience, including senior leadership roles

Proven experience managing HR end-to-end and setting organizational policy

Strong background in recruitment, including hands-on hiring

Experience working in technology, aerospace, or defense environments – an advantage

Demonstrated experience advising senior executives

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

High level of motivation, ownership, and drive for innovation

Strategic thinker with strong operational execution capabilitiesRequirements
