Business Development Manager - AI Training Data
Zedge seeks a highly skilled and motivated Business Development Manager to lead the launch and growth of our sales in content datasets for AI training. In this role, you will leverage a unique value proposition — delivering authentic, custom, and on-demand content datasets to Big Tech companies and AI startups. These datasets will encompass various mediums, including images, videos, audio, and 3D.
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in productizing our data, identifying prospective licensees and partners, negotiating commercial terms, executing agreements, and supporting our partners. You will build, manage, and nurture our ecosystems, ensuring partnership success while measuring, optimizing, and scaling growth opportunities. This role calls for a leader who is passionate about AI and thrives on collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and technical teams, to achieve impactful results.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI and machine learning, with particular expertise in generative AI. They will possess a proven track record in business development within this rapidly evolving field. Key qualities include exceptional networking capabilities, the ability to represent the company effectively, and a talent for fostering relationships with generative AI companies and VC firms.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and target partnerships with companies developing generative AI technologies
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target AI companies
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, lead negotiations, and close deals to achieve and exceed revenue targets
Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and business meetings to enhance brand visibility, network, and generate leads
Working cross-functionally with legal, marketing, finance, product, and engineering teams to negotiate deal terms, drive special projects, advocate internally for partners, and educate on industry trends
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments
Provide reports and analyses of sales activities, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts to guide strategic decisions
Collaborate closely with the internal team to gain a deep understanding of our datasets and effectively communicate their value to potential clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in technology or data-related products
Demonstrated understanding of AI, machine learning, and computer vision technologies
Strong network of contacts within AI development companies
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Required Skills
In-depth knowledge of the AI landscape
Understanding of data annotation processes and their importance in AI training
Proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools
Strong networking, negotiation and closing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
