Analytical Development Senior Research Associate

Job Description

General Summary:

The T1D Analytical Development Senior Research Associate at Vertex Cell and Genetic Therapies (VCGT) independently performs complex experimental procedures designed through collaboration with their manager. Works collaboratively with the analytical and cross-functional teams to provide technical support to achieve CMC program goals within established timelines and demonstrates excellent documentation skills. Independently performs troubleshooting as needed. Reports experimental findings and results to the team in an organized and clear manner. Authors method documents and records experimental details in an electronic lab notebook. Contributes to lab organization and efficient lab processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, execute, and analyze data from analytical assays (e.g. Flow Cytometry, High-throughput Cell Counting/Dosing, cluster characterization, qPCR/ddPCR, etc.) to support T1D programs
Support development studies, including assay development, tech transfers, validations, and bridging studies
Troubleshoot, optimize, and trend assay performance
Maintain excellent organizational skills and written documentation (e.g. electronic lab notebook, test forms, protocols, reports)
Provide routine project updates and recommendations to management
Support the management of lab logistics, including sample testing status, inventories, and equipment maintenance
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve team goals

Knowledge and Skills:

Education and Experience:

Masters Degree (or equivalent degree) and 0-2 years of relevant employment experience, or
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent degree) and 4+ years of relevant employment experience
1+ years of experience in an analytical development setting supporting biological therapeutics

In this On-Site designated role, you will work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
