Assistant to BU Operation Manager

Operate efficiently and properly the ships operating under the lines of their responsibility, and manage the monitoring and control of relative operation expenses.

Operation’s policy and procedures [support function]

As per BU Operations manager instructions:

Implement BU operations manager policy and guidelines within the regional operation and ships

Monitoring loading ships, including special/ dangerous cargo

Assistance in cooperation with Vessel’s Planning Office and based on Line’s requirements to determine vessel’s Effective Capacity.Assistance in coordinating relevant ZIM departments, the lease the vessel: Checking, Issuing request for MGMT approval.

Assistance in managing port restrictions in the lines of Bu responsibility, including sending guidelines to the ships and their owners, as required by BU OPS manager

Assist in drafting & implementing JWP with partners.

Monitoring and control- In order to reduce operational expenses

As per BU Operations manager instructions:

Assistance in controlling of costs and operational expenses, in order to reduce operational expenses, with collaboration of the BU manager and the line managers

Assistance in supervision of vessels performance according to the governing charter party

Assistance in supervision of vessels command including sailing voyage reports and procedures

Assistance in monitoring expenses in port and sea while maintaining a strict watch on exceptions.

Assistance in controlling service bunkers in various ports.

Assistance in fuel control (Ship’s voyage bunker report)

Assistance in managing randomly fuel inspections

Assistance in controlling and correcting ship’s schedules

Assistance in monitoring & following feeders schedule integrity

Implementation and performance of operation’s KPIs

Day to Day operation

As per BU Operations manager instructions assisting in all following tasks and jobs:

Coordinate scheduling according to weather conditions

Manage scheduling for ships maintenance control and repairs

Coordinate & monitor DG/RF & OOG on partners & feeders

Coordinate maintenance of reefers

Coordinate scheduling according to weather conditions

Budget

Assistance in preparation the annual operations budget

Assistance in Implement and control

Requirements:

Master Mariner certificate and sea experience / Senior officer/2nd Officer License and sea experience - a must
Experience with container vessels
Thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of international shipping.
Control of office tools, Excel (Macros level) and PowerPoint in particular
High control of English language (Speaking, reading and writing)
