The Collection Team operates as a startup within a startup—an agile, self-driven unit within the Data Collection group that holds end-to-end responsibility for building and scaling LSports’ proprietary data collection platform.

This product ingests, processes, and manages petabytes of real-time data streams from thousands of sporting events worldwide, forming the backbone of LSports’ data services. The team leads the charge on innovation, infrastructure design, and real-time performance optimization in a mission-critical environment.

As the Collection Team Development Leader, you’ll lead a team of talented engineers focused on solving challenging data engineering problems with high-impact outcomes. You’ll guide architectural decisions, drive project execution, and maintain the flexibility and autonomy of a lean, fast-moving startup team.

Responsibilities:

Lead & Mentor: Manage and support a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, creativity, and continuous improvement.
End-to-End Project Delivery: Drive multiple complex development projects from design through deployment, ensuring delivery on time and at high quality.
Architect & Innovate: Lead architectural decisions and innovation efforts for the core data collection platform, ensuring it scales with business needs and real-time demands.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Link + Robots team, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to align technical roadmaps and feature planning.
Risk & Performance Management: Anticipate delivery risks and technical bottlenecks, implementing proactive solutions for system resilience and scalability.
Continuous Optimization: Improve system performance, reliability, and throughput to support high-volume, low-latency data ingestion and processing.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience leading software development teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Expertise in Node.js and React, with deep knowledge of distributed systems architecture and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with Kafka, BullMQ, Redis, and Kubernetes in the context of building high-throughput, real-time systems.
Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex software projects from concept to production.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage ambiguity, and commitment to delivering measurable value.
Thrives in a fast-moving, evolving environment where experimentation, rapid iteration, and personal ownership are valued.

Advantage:

Experience with data collection technologies and challenges such as concurrency, anti-bot defenses, and proxy infrastructures.
Familiarity with the sports data or sports betting industry
