Field service engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Service Engineer to join our Global Service team. In this dynamic role, you will support Orbit’s advanced satellite communication systems throughout their lifecycle — from installation and integration to on-site support, troubleshooting, and customer training.

You will work directly with international customers in the defense and aerospace sectors, as well as with internal R&D and engineering teams. This is a customer-facing technical role that requires a mix of field expertise, strong communication, and high motivation — we're looking for someone with a spark in their eyes who thrives in a hands-on environment.

Requirements:

Technical education in Electronics, Communications, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer, Field Engineer, or System Technician.
Proven experience in RF systems and IP/networking (mandatory).
Strong troubleshooting capabilities across hardware, software, and system-level.
Familiarity with test equipment: spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Excellent English – written and verbal (for documentation and customer interaction).
Strong communication skills and a passion for customer-facing work.
High motivation, independence, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally (up to 30%).

Advantages:

Experience in satellite communications, defense, or avionics systems.
Familiarity with electrical diagrams and system schematics.
Background in Linux and embedded environments.
Experience in writing and executing test procedures.

Responsibilites:

Provide technical support to global customers – both remote and on-site.
Perform system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (hardware, software, RF, and network).
Lead on-site commissioning and validation of integrated systems.
Conduct customer training sessions – in-house and at customer sites.
Serve as the technical focal point for post-sale customer support.
Participate in system integration and testing of new products (NPI).
Work closely with Engineering to relay field feedback and contribute to product improvements.
Write service documentation, reports, and procedures.
