Prime members can customize their viewing experience and find their favorite movies, series, documentaries, and live sports – including Amazon MGM Studios-produced series and movies; licensed fan favorites; and programming from Prime Video add-on subscriptions such as Apple TV+, Max, Crunchyroll and MGM+. All customers, regardless of whether they have a Prime membership or not, can rent or buy titles via the Prime Video Store, and can enjoy even more content for free with ads.

As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. We're seeking an exceptional Applied Scientist to join our innovative team developing an AI-powered animation studio platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of animation production by creating novel AI solutions that empower creative professionals.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead the technical development of AI models for animation generation
- Design and implement novel architectures for character creation and manipulation
- Develop efficient pipelines for storyboard generation and animation synthesis
- Create solutions for maintaining consistency in character appearance and movement
- Optimize models for production-quality output at scale
- Collaborate with creative professionals to understand and address industry needs
- Mentor junior scientists and engineers

About the team
Our AI-powered animation studio aims to revolutionize the animation production pipeline by providing creators with intelligent tools for character development, storyboarding, and high-quality animation generation. You'll be working at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and creative arts to build the next generation of animation tools.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
- PhD, or a Master's degree and experience in CS, CE, ML or related field research
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience using Unix/Linux
- Experience in professional software development
- Experience with generative models for still images and video generation (GANs, Diffusion Models, VAEs, NeRFs) and 3D modeling and animation studios
