Data Engineer

BlueSnap is a global payment services provider that helps businesses accept payments in multiple currencies and languages. Our platform offers a seamless and secure solution for e-commerce transactions.

Our team is growing, and we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our global team!

Please note that while this position is the first in Israel, since the rest of the team is based in Boston, the work hours will be in "Israel time."

We work in a hybrid work mode and are located in Herzliya.

As a Data Engineer at BlueSnap, you will be responsible for the following:

Development and Maintenance:

Develop and maintain BlueSnap's Safeguarding solutions to support business needs.
Implement and optimize ETL processes to ensure efficient data integration from various sources.

Data Quality and Performance:

Explore and implement methods to enhance data quality, reliability, and performance.
Monitor and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring data accuracy.
Find architectural bottlenecks in the system and optimize them.

Data Analysis and Organization:

Analyze and organize raw and structured data from different sources.

Algorithm and Tool Development:

Build and prototype algorithms to support data analysis.
Write scalable ETL code.

Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborate with BI Engineers and Finance team members on various projects, providing technical expertise and support.
Write and maintain technical documentation on JIRA, ensuring clear and comprehensive records of all development activities.
Work with teams across the globe to build efficient and scalable solutions.

Requirements:

1-3 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
Strong understanding of data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
Advanced SQL skills for complex queries and database management.
Proficiency in Groovy/Java for data manipulation, analysis, and efficient ETL coding.
Experience with version control and GitLab.
Proficient in Linux server-side scripting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Past experience in the Fin-Tech industry.
Hands-on experience with data integration tools like Airflow etc.
Experience in Cloud DevOps, including storage management, bucket configuration, and overall cloud monitoring.
Excellent analytic skills and the ability to troubleshoot independently.
Strong team player with the ability to work harmoniously with diverse employees.
