About the position

Zota is looking for a practical, business-oriented Junior Data Scientist to join our Data Team and help develop the next generation of analytics, business intelligence, automation, and AI-powered solutions for our global payments platform.

In this role, you will work with cross-border financial, operational, and transactional data across multiple countries, currencies, and business functions to support decision-making across Finance, Management, Risk, Operations, and Product. The position combines core Business Intelligence (dashboard development, KPI definition, and reporting logic) with hands-on data engineering, pipeline automation, and applied AI workflows.

Roles and Responsibilities

BI & Data Visualization: Design clear, practical dashboards, define meaningful KPIs, build semantic data models, and present complex findings in a simple, professional way to business stakeholders.
Data Engineering & Automation: Clean, validate, transform, and structure transactional datasets using Python, SQL, and REST APIs to build reliable datasets for BI platforms, Salesforce, and business applications.
Applied AI & Workflows: Assist in evaluating, building, and testing automated AI agents and machine learning solutions (including tools like Salesforce Agentforce and related technologies) under senior guidance.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Quality: Partner directly with business teams to translate operational needs into actionable data solutions, while maintaining data quality controls and participating in code reviews.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: 1–2 years in Data Analysis, Data Science, BI, Analytics Engineering, or a related role is preferred. Strong graduates with relevant technical project experience are also encouraged to apply (practical experience may substitute for a formal degree).
Core Technical Skills: Strong Python proficiency (particularly Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter) for data analysis and automation, alongside solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Data Fundamentals: Proven understanding of data cleaning, validation, transformation, structured datasets, and integrating data via REST APIs and JSON files.
Mindset & Communication: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail and data accuracy, a self-driven motivation to learn independently, and fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).

Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)

Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
Exposure or interest in Salesforce Data Cloud, Tableau Next, or Salesforce Agentforce.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), Git/version control, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Interest or experience in Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, MCP), prompt design, LLM workflows, or basic ML libraries (Scikit-learn, XGBoost).
Prior exposure to ETL processes, data pipelines, or financial/payments data (not required).
