Director of Operations

Gauzy (NASDAQ: GAUZ) is a world-leading material science company, focused on the research, development, manufacturing, and marketing of vision and light control technologies that support safe, sustainable, comfortable, and agile user experiences across various industries.We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Operations to join our Headquarters Operations team.This role will be responsible for leading and aligning production, engineering, and operational excellence activities across the organization, while driving scalability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Joining the Gauzy team means being part of an elite group of innovators with a passion for creating future-defining and groundbreaking technologies that shape our everyday lives.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of five years’ experience in production and engineering managementExperience in roll-to-roll production processes—considered a strong advantageProven experience in managing comprehensive technological projects.Strong command of budget planning, monitoring, and cost management practicesExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teamsProficiency in Lean methodologies and associated toolsSolid knowledge of industry quality standards (ISO, IATF) and local EHS regulationsExcellent English language skills (spoken and written)Responsibilities:Manage the production and engineering departments, including chemical and mechanical operations across all production stages.Lead process and mechanical engineering, maintenance, EHS, and project management teams.Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.Monitor key KPIs such as OTD and FPY and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement.Oversee major projects to ensure timely, on-budget delivery aligned with operational goals.Lead scale-up initiatives, including layout and process development, machinery procurement, and capability expansion.Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards (ISO, IATF) and apply tools such as PFD and FMEA.Collaborate with R&D and product teams on NPI, ensuring necessary process and equipment adaptations.Mentor and develop department managers to foster a high-performance, collaborative environment.Build organizational structures and develop employees to support operational goals.Plan and monitor budgets, implementing cost saving measures across equipment, processes, and materials.
