Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Job description summary:

GE HealthCare MI SPECT/CT SW department is looking for an outstanding Senior Software Development Engineer in Test for its software quality team.
In this role, you have the opportunity to develop challenging software modules within complex and advanced environment for improving the quality of a unique medical device solution.

Job responsibilities:

Understand the requirements of software projects and build test plans appropriate to those requirements.
Understand the software architecture of the team deliverables; participate in design discussions.
Write clean, high quality, solid, readable code that scales.
Comply and align with software development professionalism standards within the team.
Communicate clear needs for implementation modifications with the design teams.
Work closely with Applications, System and V&V Engineers.
Evaluate overall system technical ability to meet the performance, functionality, and reliability goals.
Assess system-level risks, requirements, and possible failures to generate an integration strategy.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with minimum 5 years of experience.
At least 3 years of hands-on Python software development experience.
Hands-on experience with C++/Java software development.
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Strong understanding of multithreaded code, synchronization methods and high-performance computing.
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.
Robust debugging, optimizing and unit testing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority.
Highly self-motivated learner and able to understand tasks on own initiative.
Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.

Preferred qualifications:

Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux based programming.
Hands-on experience with Front-End development using Angular or similar framework.
Experience with modern CI/CD frameworks like Jenkins, Git Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.
Understanding of networking, TCP/IP, gRPC, REST, SQL commands and DBs and Scripting.
Experience in developing for SW/HW integrated systems (such as medical devices).
