Product Design Lead

SundaySky empowers companies to engage their customers through dynamic and data-driven video experiences. We’re seeking a creative and experienced Product Design Lead to join our team, driving design excellence across our platform and elevating our design system for a world-class user experience.

Role Overview:

As the Product Design Lead, you will oversee a team of talented designers, guide our design strategy, and play a pivotal role in developing SundaySky’s design system. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive, user-centered approach throughout our platform.

Requirements:

Experience: 7+ years in UI/UX design, with 2+ years in a lead or managerial role, preferably in a SaaS or platform-focused company.

Design System Expertise: Proven experience in building and scaling a design system, including typography, color theory, component libraries, and interaction patterns.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring a team of designers, with strong project management abilities.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and familiarity with front-end basics (HTML/CSS) is a plus.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of design principles, problem-solving, and user-centered approaches.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of UI/UX designers, fostering a collaborative, creative, and innovative environment.

Design System Ownership: Lead the development and evolution of our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with SundaySky’s brand and product vision.

User-Centered Design: Advocate for user needs, conducting or overseeing research to validate design decisions and refine user flows.

Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to define and implement user interface standards and best practices.

Design Strategy: Define and maintain a roadmap for the UI/UX function, setting standards and frameworks that support the scaling of our platform.

Quality Assurance: Oversee design quality and provide feedback to ensure high standards and alignment with best practices and accessibility guidelines.
