Syte is an image recognition solution for retailers in different verticals such as fashion, home, furniture, DIY etc. We offer AI-powered product recommendation and discovery platform. Our solutions include visual search, automated product tagging, advanced personalized recommendations, and more.

We’re looking for a Tech Lead Full‑Stack Engineer to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, high‑impact web applications and backend systems. You’ll lead cross‑stack development with Node.js/NestJS, React, TypeScript, and Python, own features end‑to‑end, and shape our engineering practices across system design, CI/CD, and cloud‑native development.

This role combines hands‑on problem‑solving with leadership, mentoring, and strategic technical decision‑making.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Technical Leadership & Ownership

• Lead architectural design across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Own the full lifecycle of major features: scoping, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Drive initiatives around scalability, performance, resiliency, and developer experience.

Full‑Stack Development

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js (NestJS) and Python (for services, data processing, automation).
• Develop modern, high‑quality frontends with React + TypeScript.
• Design REST/GraphQL APIs and optimize data models and queries in MongoDB.

Platform, CI/CD & Cloud

• Improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps) for fast, reliable, automated releases.
• Ensure production readiness in Docker/Kubernetes environments.
• Champion best practices in testing, observability, code quality, and security.

Team Leadership

• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and guide the engineering team’s technical direction.
• Lead end-to-end R&D projects and collaborate with Product, Design, and Data stakeholders to deliver impactful business features.
• Promote tooling improvements, documentation, and engineering excellence.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

Must‑Have Qualifications:

• 6+ years of full‑stack or backend-focused development experience.
• Strong production experience with:
• Node.js/NestJS
• React + TypeScript
• Python (services, automation, scripting, or data tooling)
• Solid understanding of MongoDB schema design, indexing, and performance.
• Hands‑on experience with Git workflows, code reviews, automated testing (unit/integration/E2E).
• Strong CI/CD expertise with containerized builds and automated deployment workflows.
• Experience with Docker and familiarity with cloud/container orchestration (Kubernetes is a plus).
• Strong communication skills, ownership mentality, and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Nice‑to‑Have Experience:

• Message queues / event streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, etc.).
• OpenSearch / Elasticsearch for search & analytics.
• GitOps with Argo CD.
• Python for ML/data integration, backend automation, or distributed tasks.
• API gateway patterns, rate limiting, and authentication/authorization.
• Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, etc.).
• Performance optimization across frontend and backend.
