Business Applications Engineer – Integrations (Workato)

Kumi.co is an Israeli integration consultancy and Workato partner. We build and own the connections between our clients' business systems: NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, Priority, HiBob, SAP Concur, Jira, Shopify, Katana and more. Our clients are IT, Business Applications and RevOps teams at Israeli tech and industrial companies, and the work is production integrations that run their quote-to-cash, hire-to-retire and order-to-fulfillment flows every day.

This is a freelance engagement, roughly 80% remote with occasional work from Tel Aviv and client sites. You'll be the hands-on engineer on several client engagements at once: designing, building and supporting Workato integrations end to end, and increasingly building Workato agents and MCP endpoints that let Copilot and Claude-type assistants act on live ERP and CRM data. You'll work directly with client system owners, not through a project manager.

• Design and build Workato recipes between business applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS, ticketing, e-commerce), including data mapping, error handling, retries and monitoring


• Build Workato agents and MCP servers/endpoints that expose business-system data and actions to AI assistants, with proper auth, scoping and guardrails


• Work against REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, OAuth2, custom connectors (Workato SDK) and the occasional Ruby, Python or JavaScript step when the standard connector isn't enough


• Run discovery and specification sessions with clients, turn business processes into integration designs, and document them


• Own what you build in production: troubleshoot failed jobs, trace data issues across systems, and fix root causes

• 5+ years in a Business Applications, Integrations, IT Systems or RevOps engineering role (not pure software development)


• 3+ years of proven, hands-on iPaaS experience building and supporting production integrations: Workato strongly preferred; Boomi, Make, Tray, MuleSoft, Zapier or Celigo also relevant


• Real working knowledge of at least two of: NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, Priority, HiBob, SAP Concur, Jira, Shopify


• Comfortable with REST APIs, JSON, authentication flows and reading API documentation independently


• Fluent Hebrew and English, and the ability to run a session with a client's finance or operations team


• Nice to have: Workato certifications, Workato SDK/custom connectors, experience with MCP servers or agent frameworks, Ruby/Python/JavaScript, NetSuite SuiteScript or Salesforce Apex/Flow

• Your background is backend or full-stack software development and you haven't worked inside business applications (ERP/CRM/HRIS) or an iPaaS


• "AI experience" means using ChatGPT or Claude. We're looking for people who have built agents with tools, MCP servers or similar, connected to real systems. If you haven't done that yet but have deep integration experience, we'll teach you this part.
