Senior Controller: Stark Power (TASE: STRK)

Position Overview

Stark Power (TASE: STRK) is an energy and infrastructure company listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, investing in large-scale power generation, energy storage and hyperscale data-center development in the United States. We are seeking a Senior Controller to own accounting, tax and treasury for the group.

This is a hands-on role in a small finance team. We are looking for someone with strong TASE public-company reporting experience who is comfortable doing the work themselves, not only reviewing it, and who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for Stark Power’s financial reporting, accounting, tax compliance and treasury operations across the Israeli parent and its U.S. subsidiaries. You will work closely with the FP&A and analytics team, which remains responsible for budgeting, forecasting and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review and filing of Stark Power’s quarterly and annual IFRS financial statements (consolidated and solo), directors’ reports and immediate reports with the Israel Securities Authority and TASE, ensuring full compliance with Israeli securities law and reporting requirements
• Own the consolidation across the Israeli parent and its U.S. subsidiaries (including USD-functional-currency entities), accounting policies, technical accounting position papers (e.g. IAS 21, IAS 32, IFRS 3/PPA, IFRS 2) and the monthly, quarterly and annual close, with high accuracy and efficiency
• Own tax: Israeli and U.S. corporate tax compliance and reporting across the group (parent and U.S. LLCs), including withholding, VAT and transfer pricing, working with external tax advisors in both countries
• Lead tax structuring for the group together with external advisors: the holding and financing structure for the U.S. platforms and new acquisitions (Israel–U.S. treaty position, withholding on intercompany flows and distributions, debt versus equity funding of subsidiaries, U.S. state tax exposure), and the tax aspects of new entities, financings and repatriation of cash to the parent
• Own internal controls over financial reporting (ISOX), audit readiness and the relationship with the external auditors in Israel and the U.S.
• Run treasury day-to-day: cash management and bank relationships in Israel and the U.S., payment controls and approvals, NIS-to-USD conversions under the company’s FX policy, and covenant compliance and reporting under the company’s credit facilities and bonds
• Build and improve accounting processes, systems and controls as the group grows (ERP, intercompany, payments, month-end); hands-on, as there is no large team to delegate to
• Work closely with the FP&A and analytics team as its accounting counterpart: provide the actuals, accounting treatment and balance-sheet and cash views that feed the budget and forecast (ownership of FP&A remains with that team)
• Support the deal team on the accounting, tax and funds-flow aspects of acquisitions and financings (purchase price allocation, acquisition accounting, closing mechanics and post-closing integration of acquired entities into group reporting); this role does not lead M&A or investment evaluation

Requirements

• Strong English and full professional Hebrew Essential: TASE filings and directors’ reports are in Hebrew; day-to-day work with U.S. subsidiaries, banks, auditors and partners is in English
• Israeli CPA with proven experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a TASE-listed company Including hands-on responsibility for preparing IFRS financial statements and ISA/TASE filings; Big 4 audit background an advantage
• Strong command of IFRS and Israeli public-company reporting requirements; familiarity with U.S. GAAP and U.S. tax concepts an advantage
• Experience running treasury and cash management, banking relationships and covenant reporting
• Hands-on experience with Israeli corporate tax compliance; exposure to U.S. federal and state tax, including LLC and partnership structures, an advantage
• Experience with cross-border tax structuring (Israel–U.S. holding and financing structures, treaty and withholding issues), or a demonstrated ability to work through these issues with external advisors
• Advantage: experience in energy, infrastructure, or other capital-intensive industries, and with cross-border groups with U.S. subsidiaries
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves: in a small team the Senior Controller does the work, not just reviews it, while maintaining rigorous financial discipline
