Experienced in COBOL development and looking to work on business-critical enterprise systems?

A leading organization in Central Israel is looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to join a development team responsible for maintaining and enhancing complex enterprise core systems.

This hands-on role combines COBOL development, application maintenance, production troubleshooting, database operations, and collaboration with cross-functional technology teams.

You'll work on established, business-critical applications, implement system enhancements, investigate technical issues, and contribute to the ongoing reliability and performance of enterprise systems.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using COBOL.
• Implement changes and improvements in existing core systems.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
• Investigate and resolve application issues in production environments.
• Work with databases and integrations between enterprise systems.
• Write, test, and maintain code while supporting software releases.
• Contribute to the reliability and ongoing operation of business-critical applications.
• Collaborate with Systems Analysts, Software Developers, and Infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional COBOL development experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining enterprise core systems.
• Experience working with databases.
• Familiarity with batch processing and production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to learn complex systems.
• Experience working in a large enterprise organization.
