Our Quality Group is looking for a Test Development Team Lead to manage and grow a team of Test Development Engineers. This is a player-coach role. You will own the team's test strategy, planning and delivery, develop the people on it, and still spend real time in the code: designing tests, reviewing automation, and debugging alongside your engineers. The product is an enterprise browser used by some of the largest organizations in the world, and the quality bar is set accordingly.

As Part Of This Role, You Will

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of Test Development Engineers, owning hiring, onboarding, performance and career development.
• Own the test strategy for your area: coverage, priorities, automation roadmap and release readiness.
• Plan and prioritize the team's work in step with R&D delivery, and represent quality in planning and release decisions.
• Stay hands-on. Design, implement and review manual and automated tests, and debug issues in test suites and in Island's customer-facing product.
• Drive innovation in how the team tests, including AI coding tools and agents, to cut test cycle time and raise overall product quality.
• Understand Enterprise customers' use cases and environments and shape test plans around real-world scenarios.
• Report clearly on quality status, risks and trends to engineering and product leadership.
  
  

• 4+ years managing a QA or test development team, including hiring and performance management.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in test design, both manual and automated.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and agents (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) to write, debug and maintain test code.
• Proven experience building and scaling test automation for an Enterprise product.
• Strong planning and prioritization skills, and the ability to work across R&D, product and support.
• Clear communicator who can explain quality risk to both engineers and leadership.
• Experience testing browser-based, endpoint or security products - Advantage.
• A degree in computer science or related field - Advantage.
