Avionics Hardware Development Manager

A leading defense organization in Central Israel is looking for an experienced Avionics Hardware Development Manager to lead the development of electronic modules, from initial design and engineering through manufacturing, testing, and system integration.

The role involves managing hardware development activities both in-house and through subcontractors, overseeing development plans, procurement and production processes, and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development of electronic modules from initial specifications and design through implementation and system integration.
• Manage hardware development activities in-house and with external subcontractors.
• Lead engineering design reviews and monitor development progress.
• Build and manage development plans, procurement activities, and production stages.
• Oversee development testing and system integration testing.
• Manage the development of test equipment and simulators for electronic modules.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with engineering, production planning, procurement, technology, and testing teams.
• Work directly with customers and subcontractors in Israel.
• Lead multiple technical and operational activities in a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development, including electronic modules from design through implementation and system integration.
• B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Proven ability to independently lead complex engineering activities over extended development cycles.
• Strong initiative, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel to subcontractor facilities within Israel as required.
• Availability for full-time employment, including overtime when needed.
• Israeli citizenship.
