About the Position

A leading defense technology company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to lead multidisciplinary product development projects integrating mechanical, electronic, and optical systems.

The role combines hands-on mechanical engineering with technical team leadership, overseeing the complete product development lifecycle from initial concept and detailed design through prototyping, validation, and mass production.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of mechanical engineers.
• Lead end-to-end mechanical development of complex multidisciplinary products integrating mechanical, electronic, and optical components.
• Design ruggedized military systems capable of operating under extreme environmental conditions, including temperature variations, shock, vibration, and underwater environments.
• Develop mechanical enclosures and packaging solutions for electronic assemblies and optical systems.
• Design plastic injection-molded components using advanced engineering materials.
• Design and integrate flexible cable assemblies and wiring harnesses.
• Lead design reviews, resolve complex engineering challenges, and support the transition from development to serial production.
• Collaborate closely with optical and electronics engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – Required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development – Required.
• Proven experience developing multidisciplinary products integrating mechanical and electronic systems – Required.
• Experience in technical leadership or leading mechanical engineering teams – Required.
• Full proficiency in SolidWorks – Required.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, including CNC machining, die casting, investment casting, and related processes – Required.
• Experience in optomechanical design – Advantage.
• Experience developing defense systems or products designed for harsh environmental conditions – Advantage.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, system-level thinking, and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
