About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Team Lead to provide technical leadership for our R&D team and serve as the most senior professional authority on architecture, technology, and code quality. The role combines technical and managerial leadership of the R&D team with close collaboration with a parallel team responsible for developing our Web and mobile platforms.

This position calls for a blend of technological depth, people leadership experience, and the ability to dive into the details while keeping a broad view of the entire system.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical leadership and team management: Lead and manage the research team day to day, including mentoring, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Working with LLMs: Implement and integrate commercial models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) alongside open-source models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG, and cost/performance management.
• Model research and training: Lead research and development of AI models for tasks such as speaker diarization, automatic speech recognition (ASR), summarization, and other NLP tasks.
• Technology architecture: Design and maintain a flexible, modular, cloud-agnostic architecture that supports both cloud deployment and isolated (air-gapped) on-premise environments.
• Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with the Web development team (Frontend/Backend) to ensure seamless integration between the AI engines and the product platforms.
• Processes and quality: Establish development processes, quality assurance, CI/CD, and a healthy engineering culture within the team.
• Day-to-day technical decisions: Make technology decisions at the team level.

Requirements

Experience and Leadership

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or in a similar technical leadership role.
• Experience providing professional leadership and directly managing software and research engineers.
• Strong communication skills with team members, managers, and other stakeholders across the organization.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs, both commercial and open-source (Llama, Mistral, etc.).
• Deep understanding of data science and speech domains, including speaker diarization, transcription, automatic summarization, and related areas.
• Experience building and operating cloud-agnostic architectures, including deployment in secure air-gapped / on-premise environments.
• Broad understanding of all areas within the team’s scope, with the ability to lead professionally across every domain, not just at the managerial level.
