Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Team Lead to lead the automation and quality domain and serve as the technological authority in this area for the department they support.

The role requires management and leadership skills along with significant hands-on experience in automation development, including the ability to lead a professional team and drive innovation and AI adoption.

This is a hands-on technical management role that combines managing and professionally leading automation developers and testers with active involvement in development, writing code, design reviews and code reviews. It includes close work with the development teams, advancing modern quality processes, and embedding innovation and AI technologies into the development and testing processes.

Areas of Responsibility

• Management and professional leadership of automation developers and testers.

• Recruiting, mentoring and professionally developing team members, including building work plans and goals for automation and quality.

• Leading automation processes as part of the development life cycle.

• Ongoing work with development, architecture, DevOps and product management teams.

• Promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.

• Leading the adoption of AI solutions in testing and automation.

• Tracking quality metrics, automation coverage and testing process efficiency.

• Professional leadership of design review and code review processes in the automation domain.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience managing automation and testing teams, including experience managing automation developers and manual testers.

• Experience in recruiting, mentoring and developing employees.

• Ability to lead professional processes with development teams and other stakeholders.

• At least 6 years of experience in automation development.

• Significant experience in software or automation development in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript.

• Significant experience in API automation.

• Experience working in a microservices environment.

• Experience working with REST APIs.

• Experience working with CI/CD.

• Experience working with source control and configuration management tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bitbucket.

• Ability to read, write and review code at a high level.

• Hands-on experience working with Generative AI tools.

• Experience working with AI tools for software and automation development, including the ability to identify opportunities to improve quality through AI solutions and to implement AI solutions in practice.

• Familiarity with AI agents and agentic workflows.

• Experience in an enterprise, financial or banking organization - an advantage.

• Experience working in cloud environments, with an emphasis on AWS - an advantage.

• Experience working with OpenShift - an advantage.

• Experience working with Kubernetes - an advantage.

• Experience leading automation processes in an Agile environment.
