Founding Backend Engineer

We’re an early-stage cybersecurity startup in stealth mode, building a technically challenging product for enterprise customers.

We’re looking for an exceptional Founding Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team and play a key role in shaping our product, architecture, and engineering culture from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, technical challenges, and the opportunity to make a real impact from day one.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and scale backend services and endpoint components at the core of our product.
• Own complex technical projects end-to-end, from architecture and design to production.
• Build reliable, scalable systems for data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
• Work closely with the founding team to turn product and customer needs into technical solutions.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions, balancing speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
• Help shape engineering practices, infrastructure, and technical standards as we grow.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, preferably with Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or complex backend infrastructure.
• Proven ability to independently own projects from concept to production.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and system design skills.
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a pragmatic approach to engineering.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing endpoint agents or working on low-level systems (Rust, C, C++, Go).
• Background in cybersecurity products such as EDR, XDR, or DLP.
• Experience with event sourcing or high-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with Go, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or GCP.
• Previous experience in an early-stage startup or B2B SaaS environment.
