Experienced Mechanical Engineer

ThirdEye Systems, a leading company specializing in the development and manufacturing of advanced electro-optical products and systems, powered by Computer Vision and AI technologies for the defense industry, is looking for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Detailed mechanical design of electro-optical systems and gimbal payloads.
• Electronic packaging design and electronic enclosures, addressing challenges such as heat dissipation, vibrations, environmental compliance, sealing, and tight tolerances.
• Design of parts, jigs, and testing equipment utilizing various manufacturing technologies, including CNC machining, casting, extrusion, sheet metal, and advanced 3D printing.
• Production of manufacturing and assembly drawings, material selection, and BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and management.
• Support and guide the design process utilizing structural and thermal analyses.
• Manage design configurations using PDM systems.
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional R&D and operational teams in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized academic institution.
• At least 4 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• High proficiency in SOLIDWORKS – A MUST.
• Experience working with PDM systems – A MUST.
• Deep understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, casting, extrusion, sheet metal).
• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with 3D printing (various materials and printing technologies) – A MUST.
• Deep understanding and proven design experience for harsh environmental conditions, sealing, and vibration suppression – A MUST.
• Experience in performing basic static/thermal analyses and a strong ability to interpret complex dynamic/modal analysis reports to optimize mechanical design.
• Experience with electronic packaging and a basic understanding of electronic boards (PCBA) and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Previous experience in the defense industry – A significant advantage.
• Familiarity with the end-user environment and operational requirements of military/IDF systems – An advantage.
• Experience with electro-optical systems – An advantage.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
