Mechanical Designer

ESP710 is a dynamic young defense-tech startup developing cutting-edge tactical UAVs, loitering munitions, and airborne systems at the forefront of aerial warfare technology. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Mechanical Developer (CAD & Prototyping) to join our fast-paced R&D team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design and CAD modeling for complex aerial systems and tactical components.
• Take mechanical problems and system requirements from concept to fully functional prototypes.
• Design parts specifically for 3D printing (additive manufacturing), taking into consideration tolerances, structural strength, orientation, and manufacturing constraints.
• Execute rapid prototyping, hands-on assembly, and continuous design iterations (Design-Build-Test-Iterate).
• Maintain clean, organized, and scalable CAD assemblies to ensure efficient ongoing development and future modifications.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering and integration teams in a fast-moving R&D environment.

Requirements:

• Proven CAD Experience: Strong background in 3D CAD modeling (parts, complex assemblies, and subsystems) with proficiency in Fusion 360 or equivalent CAD software (Onshape, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
• Hands-on Prototyping & Assembly: Demonstrated track record of taking concepts from CAD to working physical prototypes through hands-on fabrication and assembly.
• Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing Expertise: Deep practical experience in designing for 3D printing, material selection, tolerances, and post-processing.
• Drone / RC / FPV Background: Personal or professional hands-on background in FPV drones, UAVs, RC platforms, robotics, DIY, or 3D printing projects.
• Portfolio / Work Samples: Ability to present a portfolio or past projects demonstrating your CAD capabilities and hands-on mechanical execution.
• Personal Traits: High self-learning capability, strong ownership, attention to detail, and a collaborative team player.
• Languages: Good technical English (reading documentation, technical research, and working with international resources).
