Software Team Lead – Finance

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–5 backend engineers across junior and senior levels.

• Own the development and evolution of HAAT's Finance domain, including payment integrations, coupons, rewards, incentive management, and financial reporting.

• Drive end-to-end delivery, from planning and prioritization to development, deployment, and execution.

• Manage the team's Jira backlog, break down complex initiatives into actionable tasks, and maintain clear visibility into progress and timelines.

• Lead technical discussions and contribute to backend architecture, system design, and integration decisions.

• Ensure high engineering standards through code reviews, technical guidance, and development best practices.

• Build and maintain reliable, scalable financial services and integrations with internal systems and third-party providers.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and other Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Identify technical risks, manage dependencies, remove blockers, and ensure predictable delivery.

• Support engineers' professional development while building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring to the Table:

• 6+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in backend engineering.

• 2–3 years of technical leadership experience, managing developers, leading engineering projects, or coordinating delivery across engineering teams.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, backend architecture, service integrations, and reliable system design.

• Proven ability to lead technical discussions, guide architectural decisions, and maintain high code quality.

• Strong project and delivery management skills, including sprint planning, Jira management, task prioritization, and timeline tracking.

• Experience managing technical dependencies and coordinating integrations with internal teams and external providers.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence, business priorities, and delivery commitments.

• Experience in fintech, payments, e-commerce, or financial services.

• Familiarity with payment gateways, payment processing, refunds, settlements, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

• Experience with coupons, loyalty programs, rewards, or incentive management systems.
