Backend & AI Tech Lead

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Backend & AI Tech Lead to lead a small engineering team while driving the architecture, development, and delivery of production-grade systems.

This is a technical leadership role combining 70% hands-on development and 30% leadership and mentoring, ideal for a strong Senior Backend Engineer with experience guiding developers who wants to remain close to the code while expanding their leadership impact.

What you'll do:

• Lead and mentor a small engineering team, conduct code reviews, and maintain high engineering standards.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services using C# / .NET, REST APIs, Entity Framework Core, and SQL Server.
• Build and integrate AI-enabled capabilities, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation into production systems.
• Develop and support RAG pipelines and integrations with external tools and APIs.
• Take ownership of system reliability, performance, security, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive technical decisions, architecture, and end-to-end delivery.
• Maintain a strong hands-on involvement in development while mentoring other engineers.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in Backend Engineering, including ownership of production systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# / .NET, REST API design, and asynchronous architecture.
• Strong experience with SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
• Proven experience mentoring, leading, or technically guiding engineers.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and clean code.
• Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Experience with AWS / Azure, CI/CD pipelines, vector databases, and multi-tenant architectures.
• Experience developing backend systems for complex web and native mobile applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and the ability to work independently.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience with LangGraph, Python / FastAPI, and RAG pipelines.
• Familiarity with tool calling and AI evaluation frameworks such as LangSmith or Langfuse.
