Role Description-

• Serving as an Engineering Manager / Backend Team Lead, reporting directly to the VP of R&D, leading a core team of ~8 Backend Software Engineers with high ownership and future potential to expand into multi-team management.
• Driving backend architecture, technical excellence, and delivery standards: actively guiding system design, conducting in-depth code reviews, and maintaining scalable engineering practices.
• Leading the development and scaling of distributed, high-throughput microservices handling millions of daily global consumer transactions, with a modern stack centered around Node.js, TypeScript, Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and GraphQL.
• Partnering closely with Product Management and cross-functional teams to define the product domain, align technical roadmaps, and deliver high-impact consumer-facing features.
• Spearheading complex technical initiatives, including the integration and evaluation of AI-driven capabilities to enhance product intelligence and system performance.
• Fostering an inclusive, high-performance team culture through coaching, mentoring, and continuous engineering talent development.

Requirements-

• 4+ years of proven engineering management / team lead experience, directly managing a team of at least 4 software engineers – Mandatory
• Proven background from strong Product-driven software companies (SaaS) – Mandatory
• Hands-on architectural and technical depth in distributed systems, high-scale microservices, and backend engineering – Mandatory
• Strong technical background with modern backend ecosystems (such as Node.js / TypeScript, Kafka / Event-Driven messaging, NoSQL / MongoDB, and Kubernetes) – Mandatory
• Strong product orientation with the ability to bridge complex business requirements with technical execution – Mandatory
• Passion for mentorship, people growth, and building high-trust, collaborative engineering teams – Mandatory
• Fluent technical communication and leadership skills in English (written and verbal) – Mandatory
