Company Description Kivunim – Toward Independence is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003 that supports young adults with disabilities in developing the skills needed for independent living and community integration in Israel. The organization focuses on empowering participants by highlighting strengths, building self-management skills, and promoting social inclusion so they can become active contributors in society. Its core programs, Wings and Carmel, serve young adults ages 18–30 with physical and sensory disabilities, as well as high-functioning autistic adults, through structured two-year life skills and vocational frameworks. Participants learn to manage daily life, finances, health, leisure, and social involvement, and many join Israel’s National Service or receive vocational training. Kivunim currently serves about 200 people with disabilities each year in various programs, including supportive housing and enrichment initiatives for deaf and hearing-impaired youth.
Role Description The Social Worker will provide psychosocial support and case management for young adults with diverse disabilities participating in Kivunim’s programs. This full-time role includes conducting intake and assessments, developing individualized intervention plans, facilitating group sessions focused on life skills and social integration, and coordinating with participants’ families, caregivers, national service supervisors, and community partners. The Social Worker will monitor progress, document interventions, advocate for participants’ rights and needs, and help them access community resources, benefits, and services. Additional responsibilities include crisis intervention as needed, participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, and contributing to program development and evaluation. This is a hybrid role based in Haifa, with work taking place both at program sites in northern Israel and remotely from home.
Qualifications

• Relevant academic degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) from an accredited institution and a valid license/registration to practice social work in Israel.
• Experience working with people with physical, sensory, and/or developmental disabilities, ideally with young adults transitioning to independent living.
• Strong skills in psychosocial assessment, individual and group interventions, case management, and advocacy.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with families and community agencies, and build effective professional relationships.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written Hebrew; English proficiency and additional languages are an advantage.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusion, working with participants from diverse communities and backgrounds.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases, documentation requirements, and program activities in a dynamic environment.
• Comfort with basic digital tools and remote work practices, including documentation systems, video conferencing, and online communication.
• Flexibility to work in a hybrid model, including travel to Haifa and program apartments in northern Israel as required.
