Lead Forward Deployed Engineer

As a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll take on our hardest and most ambiguous transformation challenges. You’ll go deep into how the business actually works, challenge existing assumptions, reimagine processes for an AI native world, and lead the build all the way into production.

This is a deeply hands on technical leadership role. You’ll move from business problem to architecture to code to production, working with engineers, users and senior leaders along the way.

You own the outcome end to end. The job is not done at a recommendation or prototype. It is done when what we build works in production and creates measurable business impact.

At the same time, you’ll help build the FDE capability itself, raising the technical bar, developing exceptional engineers and bringing the engineering culture and product mindset of leading technology companies into how we build.

What you’ll do

• Take ownership of complex, open ended problems, bringing structure and technical direction where neither is obvious.

• Go deep into the business, understanding workflows, decisions, users, data, systems and constraints before deciding what should be built.

• Reimagine end to end business processes for an AI native world, rather than simply automating how they work today.

• Own the journey from problem definition and architecture through hands on build, deployment, adoption and measurable business outcome.

• Architect and build AI powered applications, agents, workflows and enterprise systems, staying hands on in code and critical technical decisions.

• Ensure solutions become secure, reliable, scalable production systems, not prototypes.

• Set the technical and engineering bar for the FDE team, developing exceptional engineers and helping them independently own complex problems end to end.

• Build reusable architecture patterns, components and ways of working that allow successful solutions to scale.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant technical leadership responsibility.

• Meaningful experience in a senior engineering or technical role within a leading global technology company, high growth technology company or scaled technology startup.

• Exceptional coding ability and deep expertise in software architecture, system design, backend engineering, distributed systems, data and cloud infrastructure.

• A strong track record of personally designing, building and operating complex production grade systems at scale.

• Deep hands on experience with LLMs, AI agents and applied AI systems, including orchestration, evaluation, observability, reliability and security in production.

• The ability to operate in highly ambiguous environments, learn unfamiliar business domains quickly and turn loosely defined problems into working systems.

• The ability to combine engineering depth, product judgment and business intuition, moving comfortably from a senior business conversation to architecture and code.

• Exceptional ownership. You stay with the problem from first principles through production and measurable impact.

• A builder and multiplier mindset. You remain hands on while raising the technical bar of the engineers around you and building capabilities that scale beyond any single solution.
