Senior Field Deployment Engineer (FDE)

Job Description

As a Senior Field Deployment Engineer (FDE) within the Customer Solutions Architecture (CSA) team, you will design and build tailored technical solutions that help customers maximize the value of Bob.
This role sits at the intersection of customer needs, solution architecture, integrations, and AI-assisted development. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand business requirements, assess the customer’s technical ecosystem, evaluate Bob’s existing capabilities, and translate these into scalable, practical solutions.
The ideal candidate is not a traditional software engineer, but a strong technical problem solver and customer-facing integrator who can connect systems, design solutions, and use AI-assisted development to turn ideas into working outcomes quickly.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in system integrations, technical implementation, solution consulting, or integration architecture.
• Deep hands-on experience integrating SaaS platforms and connecting systems through APIs, webhooks, middleware, and related integration technologies.
• Strong business orientation, with the ability to understand the customer’s business processes, objectives, and constraints and translate them into the right technical solution.
• Strong ability to understand a customer’s technical ecosystem and translate complex requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
• Experience assessing existing platform capabilities and identifying how to extend or combine them to address complex customer needs.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and vibe coding, using AI tools to build integrations, automations, prototypes, and custom solutions.
• Strong technical orientation and the ability to build working solutions without needing to operate as a traditional software engineer.
• Strong consulting skills, with the ability to guide customers through solution design and enable them to build and own solutions independently.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience documenting technical solutions and handing them over clearly to customers or internal teams.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers in implementation, consulting, solutions, or deployment roles.
  
  

• Design, consult on, and build tailored integrations and technical solutions that connect Bob with the customer’s ecosystem, leveraging APIs, webhooks, MCP, custom objects, and extensibility capabilities.
• Analyze customer business needs, technical requirements, and existing tech stack to define the right solution architecture.
• Assess Bob’s current capabilities and identify how they can be combined, extended, or integrated to solve complex customer use cases.
• Translate functional and business requirements into clear technical solution designs and implementation approaches.
• Guide customers in designing and building their own solutions, providing technical consultation, architecture guidance, and best practices throughout the process.
• Build custom integrations, automations, prototypes, and lightweight applications using AI-assisted development and vibe coding practices where direct development is required.
• Partner closely with Customer Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Product, and Engineering teams to design and deliver effective customer solutions.
• Balance customer-specific requirements with scalability, maintainability, and alignment with Bob’s platform strategy.
• Document solution architecture, technical decisions, integration flows, implementation guidance, and handover materials to ensure solutions can be effectively owned and maintained by customers or internal teams.
